9/11 Remembrance Ceremony

American Legion Post 543 and the St. James Fire Department will jointly host a remembrance ceremony of the 24th anniversary of 9/11 on Thursday, September 11 at 10AM at the Homer E. Wright Event Center. This ceremony provides an opportunity to reflect on the tragic events that forever changed our world. Guest speaker Mr. Warren Ihde will share his memories of responding to the attacks, including his efforts to help evacuate people from Manhattan by boat. The program will include the ceremonial fire bell rung by members of the St. James Fire Department, songs by the Seaside Singers, the sounding of Taps, and bagpipe music. This event is open to the public, and all are warmly invited to attend as we gather to remember, honor and never forget.
